awana

AWANA is an acronym which stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (from 2 Timothy 2:15). AWANA is a children's program (kindergarten-6th grade) that meets during the school year on Wednesday nights under the leadership of Chris and Tina Stauffer.

Our time together this year will include a small group time focused on reciting and talking about memorized Bible verses, as well as a large group time of music and Bible teaching.

This year, AWANA meets weekly

from 6:30-7:30pm on Wednesdays.

Our classrooms are set up

to allow for social distancing.

Masks are welcome, but not required.

Unfortunately, the number of children we can accommodate

this year at AWANA is limited because of our building size

and following social distancing practices.

Please contact the church office

if you would like to have your child be involved in AWANA.

Sunday School

For the winter of 2021, Sunday School happens on Sundays at 9:00am for ages preschool-high school.  God has blessed our church with some loving and gifted teachers who engage all of our children and youth with clear and relevant teaching.  We want them to be molded by God's Word and motivated by God's glory as we equip them to make disciples in their world.

Sunday School for ages preschool-12th grade

is from 9:00-9:55am on Sunday mornings.

Our classrooms are set up to allow

for social distancing.

Masks are welcome, but not required.

one-to-one youth discipleship

Discipleship happens in the context of relationships.  For a number of years now, our youth have benefited from our 1-1 discipleship program.  The program is for youth in grades 7-12 who are regular Sunday School and youth group attenders who would also like to be discipled/mentored by an adult in a one-to-one setting. If someone is interested, they should contact Pastor Jeremy and we’ll get it arranged. They can start at any time.

Middle school youth Group

We want 6th-8th graders to know Jesus and make Him known. In addition to Sunday School and 1-1 mentoring, many of our middle school students participate or serve in our AWANA ministry.  This is a great opportunity to grow. We also want to give them a space to learn and grow together with others of the same age.

Our Middle School Youth Group

meets for a meal

and study of the book of James

from 5:30-6:40pm every Wednesday

at the church building.

During youth group,

social distancing practices will be followed.

When it is easier to not social distance (for a game, etc), masks will be used for a short period of time.

Bo Meester, Steve and Alison Campbell, and Ryne and Jeanette Reyes are the youth group leaders. For more information, please contact the church office.

HIgh school youth Group

The High School Youth Group at Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church exists to encourage and equip our young people to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Our emphasis is on reading and studying the Word of God, glorifying Him in all we do, and learning how to carry out His commands. Leaders for this group are Mark and Linda Guy and Jess and Terri Peterson. This group meets at the home of Mark and Linda Guy on Sunday evenings during the school year to share a meal, discuss the events of the week, and read and study God's Word.  For more information about high school youth group, contact the church office.

High School Youth Group meets

on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00pm

at Mark and Linda Guy's home.

Because the High School Youth Group meets

in a home for a meal,

so following social distancing protocols

may not be possible.

Masks are welcome, but not required.

Nursery

For now, we are unfortunately not able to offer the nursery,

but the nursing lounge will be open.

Jesus loves little children and so do we.

When we are able to safely open the nursery again,

you can drop off your children in our nursery

and rest assured that they will be cared for by a loving adult

during both Sunday school and the worship service.

To keep things safe and manageable, our nursery is available

for children up to 3 years of age.

Moms, if you need a quiet place to be

with your little one during the worship service,

we also have a nursing lounge with a changing table

available across from the nursery.

It can be accessed through the women's restroom.

The service will be shown on a TV in that room

so you can still be engaged in that way.

VBS

For the past few years, we have teamed up with 3 other local evangelical churches to reach out to kids in our community with the gospel through Vacation Bible School.  We meet at the IF-A High School for 4 mornings in midsummer.
